I have an honours degree in Biochemistry from Wits University. I started my career in the beer industry in 2012 where I was a Brewing trainee. Qualified as a brewer through the traineeship programme and obtained a diploma in Brewing from IBD. For 5 years worked as a cellars and yeast specialist in different breweries where my main role was to improve and sustain quality, cost and delivery of the cellars area through the management of yeast and fermentation. In 2020 I then moved into the quality space at Heineken where I managed the central lab which consists of the analytical lab, micro lab, sensory lab and quality at source to ensure optimal quality control and assurance. In addition to this I am a Heineken global lab star auditor who certifies labs. I now manage the quality department as a whole which is a key function in the Brewery, ensuring that our products are safe for consumption, meet specifications, taste good and meet the customers needs.
